Strengthen the Immune System
There is nothing so much to strengthen immunity as vitamin C. Humans desperately need a trace element that acts as a powerful antioxidant. Vitamin C strengthens the immune system by supporting several both innate and specific immune functions.
Air pollution and smoking or exposure to cigarette smoke quickly deplete the amount of antioxidants that can lead to vitamin C deficiency.
When viruses attack, they cause inflammation and speed up the metabolism, which also depletes the vitamin C intake.
Consequences – damaged immune system and increased susceptibility to new infections. We have repeatedly shown vitamin C supplementation to help both prevent and cure respiratory infections, including pneumonia.
When scurvy was discovered to be caused by vitamin C deficiency, they released the trace element in the 1920s and medical pioneers, including Claus Washington Jungblut and Frederick Klenner, began using vitamin C in high doses to prevent pneumonia and treat pneumonia patients. It worked.
Klenner was an American physician who specialized in chest diseases.He reported that in the 1940s, 41 people were cured of pneumonia using vitamin C.
Dr. Robert Katkar, a protégé of Lain Poling, used high doses of vitamin C in the 1960s to treat pneumonia, hepatitis and immunodeficiency.
Since then, they have published thousands of studies on vitamin C in the medical literature, including evidence that vitamin C can prevent oxidative damage in smokers, has been incredibly useful in treating people with deadly sepsis, and has could reduce inflammatory markers in these patients. It has been effective in treating people with viral diseases such as Epstein-Barr virus and shingles.
There is no virus on which vitamin C would not work.
They have performed COVID-19 pandemic hotspots, including in Italy and Wuhan in China, where high doses of vitamin C have been given intravenously.
Anchian Mao, head of the emergency service at Ruijin Hospital, saw 359 COVID-19 patients in critical care in Shanghai who were given 10,000 to 20,000 mg (10-20 g) of vitamin C every day for ten to ten days. None of these people died.
The results in China have been so promising that doctors from several New York clinics began testing the effects of vitamin C on critical patients, albeit at lower doses.
Initial reports in March reported that they gave 700 patients 1,500 mg of vitamin C intravenously three to four times a day, 16 times the allowable 90 milligrams a day for men and 75 milligrams a day for women, but still much less than the doses used for viral infections.
It is a tremendous help, but they do not highlight it because it is not a sexy drug,
says intensive care specialist and pulmonologist Andrew Weber, who works at Northwell Health, as he oversees 23 hospitals in New York.
A recent review highlighted eight clinical trials of vitamin C in patients who required lung ventilation and found that vitamin C use reduced the duration of mechanical ventilation by an average of 14 percent in people in intensive care units.
Of the 685 patients included in the meta-analysis by Dr. Harry Hamile of the University of Helsinki and Elizabeth Kalkeri of the University of Sydney, vitamin C helped people who were in the most hard condition.
Of the 471 patients who were ventilated for over ten hours, a daily dose of 1,000 to 6,000 mg of vitamin C reduced ventilation time by an average of 25 percent.
In his statement, Dr. Hamile wrote that if convincing evidence was provided of the benefits of vitamin C for the most urgently affected intensive care patients,
supplemented by data that these patients have very low levels of vitamin C, people entering intensive care units would: The use of vitamin C could be beneficial.

With a serious viral infection, Saul refers to a treatment protocol published by Dr. Klenner, in which they gave patients vitamin C injections at a dose of 350-1200 mg per kilogram of patient body weight.
For an adult a day they are 20-120 g of vitamin C. It is not a maintenance dose. It is a therapeutic dose used in very serious diseases, such as pneumonia, says Saul.
We can take vitamin C in parallel with medication if needed. This is not an option when using one or the other. It is not a choice.
It is very important to increase the body’s antioxidant capacity and increase its natural immunity so that when the virus attacks, the body can repel it and reduce the symptoms.
Vitamin C in intensive care
In a 2020 meta-analysis, researchers found that vitamin C shortened the time patients in the intensive care unit depended on pulmonary ventilation.
The researchers looked at the clinical results of 685 critically ill patients; they pooled treatment in eight separate studies.
Overall, vitamin C reduced the time a patient needed lung ventilation by 14%. The patients who helped the most were also in the most hard condition.
Of the 471 patients who needed artificial lung ventilation for over ten hours – the worst cases – vitamin C use reduced the time spent using ventilator therapy by 25 percent.
Reduce Virus Load
British physician Sarah Myhill, author of The Infection Game: Life is an Arms Race, published by Hammersmith Health Books in 2018, adds that the severity of an infectious disease, including the coronavirus, depends on the dose of pathogens ingested or the burden of pathogens.
Our immune system is well placed to deal with small amounts of pathogens, even if they are potentially hostile, but not in excessive concentrations.
Take care that this burden of pathogens remains low, then it will take longer for the virus particles to accumulate in the body. And this will allow the immune system to respond effectively.
Iodine, this yellow-brown solution that has been used to disinfect the skin before surgery, has been used as a disinfectant for almost 200 years. There is no virus that can withstand iodine. It kills everyone who comes in contact with it.

The doctor recommends making a mixture of ten parts coconut oil (which also has antiviral effects) and one part lugol solution (preferably 15% strong).
With this mixture, the doctor smears his hands and skin around his nose and mouth when he has come in contact with people who could carry the virus or touched things that could contain the virus.
Iodine ointment temporarily stains the skin yellow, but over time evaporates until it disappears completely, during which it also releases antiviral vapors.
To treat respiratory infections, Myhill also recommends dropping 1-4 drops of lugol solution of any strength (or as much as the body can tolerate) in the salt pipe and inhaling twenty times through the nose and exhaling through the mouth until the aroma of iodine is no longer felt.
We should repeat this procedure two or three times a day. If there is no salt pipe, Myhill recommends moistening the cotton wool circles with lugol’s solution and placing them in an empty jar.
Then a few times a day the jar can be opened and allow the iodine vapor to escape from the jar. You can also sprinkle a face mask with 2-4 drops of Lugol’s solution, which should be worn, for example, when driving on public transport.
It has been well proven that chronic stress – any stress lasting more than a few hours – suppresses the immune system’s protective reactions and causes a small amount of chronic inflammation, which is associated with almost all diseases, from cancer to pneumonia.
Stress releases a “fight or flight” reaction, which causes the body to release cortisol, which causes it to take action.
High levels of stress:
- deplete nutrient resources;
- impair learning and memory;
- affect mood;
- and predispose to depression.
Emergencies and restrictions around the world, imposed by national governments and public health agencies to protect people from the new coronavirus, have ironically released a global wave of lethal, chronic stress.
Besides the unprecedented economic collapse, tens of millions of people suffered financial losses or drowned in uncertainty, and the media’s continued sowing of fear also created a lasting feeling of fear.
Add to that the fact that millions of people are still deprived of much of what gave them joy and purpose and allowed them to get rid of stress –
- friends and grandchildren;
- and all kinds of social activities.

However, we can still take certain steps to reduce stress as much as possible, such as:
- exercising regularly;
- using positive visualization;
- enjoying music and art;
- striving for our friends and family;
- and holding on to faith.
And again, when you return to vitamin C, high doses of vitamin C reduce the damage to the immune system caused by stress.
According to a study conducted by researchers at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, when rats were given vitamin C, it improved their stress hormone levels and other typical indicators of physical and emotional stress, such as:
- weight loss;
- adrenal enlargement;
- shrinkage of the thyroid gland and spleen.
Treatment with vitamin C also increased circulating IgG antibody levels, the body’s primary defense against systemic infection. Another study found that vitamin C reduces physical and psychological stress in humans.
The researchers exposed a group of 120 people to a safe stressor – public speaking combined with math problems.
They gave half of the group vitamin C, the other half was not. Control group recipients who did not receive vitamin C had three times higher blood pressure than the vitamin C group. The participants themselves reported that they felt less stressful after the experience.
If the first signs of the virus appear
Dr. Sarah Myhill’s recommendations:
- Drink 10 grams of vitamin C dissolved in 500 ml of water every hour until diarrhea occurs – this will determine your intestinal tolerance.
- Breathe lugol iodine solution every two hours.
- Lie down in bed to allow your body to fight the infection.
Recommendations from Holistic Medicine Physician David Brownstein:
- Take 100,000 units of vitamin A every day for four days in a row. Then, or if you are not ill, take 5,000 units of vitamin A a day (take vitamin A instead of beta carotene). However, women who are pregnant should avoid such high doses and consult an experienced specialist who will recommend an individual dose.
- Take 50,000 IU of vitamin D3 every day for four days in a row.
- Eliminate refined sugar from the diet. Refined sugar has been shown to change the function of white blood cells negatively one hour after ingestion.
- Drink water. Dehydration will affect the process of removing infections from the body. Calculate your body weight in pounds, divide by two and get the number of ounces of water you should drink. For example, if you weigh 200 pounds (90 kg), you should drink 100 ounces (3 liters) of water every day.
Recommended daily dose: 3000 mg (3 g) or more in divided doses. One option is to add 5000 mg (5g) of pure ascorbic acid powder to 1-1.5 liters of water and drink during the day.
Recommended daily dose: Start with 5,000 IU (125 micrograms; mcg) daily and continue at this dose for two weeks, then reduce to 2,000 IU (50 mcg) daily.
Recommended daily dose: 400 mg (as magnesium citrate, malate, amino acid chelate or chloride).
